Channah Lohman (IMES): Hearing Colors for Conservation--a Research Proposal (Example Post)

About Me:
Returning to my 4-H roots in Maryland 2018

Hello, all. My name is Channah Lohman, and I'm a 22-year-old aspiring concept artist in the video game field. I've studied painting at a classical art studio for 8 years and taught there for five. Right now, I work online as an English teacher for international students. I have two ideal visions for the future; one is to be the creative director of my own video game company, and the other is to open a classical art school overseas to provide accessible art instruction for less-fortunate areas. I've been studying Japanese for the past 7 years and Korean since last August.

(Students: Your title should begin with your name followed by your 'Affiliation' in parenthesis e.g., (IMES, Quanta IIB, or Q-Capstone). Your image should be set as 'medium' and may be placed either to the left, center or right; include a caption. Do NOT copy/paste text from e.g., Word document)

My Project:

The goal of my project is to record audio, video, and photographs of the forest at each stage of the burn/regrowth cycle and translate them into paintings. By doing this, I hope to show the different stages of life during each part of the cycle and present them in an easily and immediately understandable way to our  viewers. In this way, I hope to educate people like me, whose only ideas of logging were from Ferngully: the Last Rainforest and James Cameron's Avatar. By doing this, I hope to raise support and appreciation for our land management officials and encourage people to explore the land they manage.
